After the Jump Rocks Williamsburg!

Announcements

Thank you to all those involved this year in After the Jump Fest and to all those whom came out to enjoy a day of amazing music, fun, sun and ice cream. After the Jump 2008 was a phenomenal event, but you don’t have to take our word for it…

Spin Magazine
“After the Jump Fest Invades Brooklyn: Pela, the Forms, Ponytail and many more hit the streets on summer’s boiling solstice and stir a welcomed commotion.”

Brooklyn Radio
“At the end of the night, I felt like I had seen 16 different shows in one day, but somehow they all possessed a certain cohesion that I can’t explain. Variety, as they say, is the spice of life, and After The Jump Fest was the proverbial spice cabinent.”

Baeble Music
“All in all the festival was a fantastic success; a multitude of bands got exposure, and tons of fans came out to enjoy music on the streets and inside MHOW”

The Music Slut Tells it Like it is

Announcements

Our friends over at The Music Slut recently wrote a very cool article about the state of indie bands and mentioned our contest partner Stereofame.com. Check it out below!

It seems like every month (if not once a week) there crops up a new music website for bands to sign up for. With the old model of record label now becoming as antiquated as those bicycles with the comically large front wheel, some of these sites are actually helping bands take control of their recording by allowing them to build an undercurrent of a fan base. I mean hey, Tila Tequila did it on MySpace and now she’s got that show… it’s on VH1 or something… Actually I’m unclear on what she does but what I do know is she became famous by creating a movement of a million fans on a site nearly all of us web geeks use.
